The Jomolhari Trek is one of Bhutan’s premier trekking adventures, offering close views of the sacred mountain Mount Jomolhari (7,326 m). The trek combines dramatic mountain scenery, remote villages, yak pastures, and rich Bhutanese culture.
Itinerary
Day 1–2: Arrival and Paro sightseeing
- Acclimatization.
- Visit Tiger’s Nest Monastery and local temples.
Day 3: Paro – Shana
- Trek begins through river valleys and forests.
Day 4: Shana – Soi Thangthangkha
- Follow the Paro Chhu river.
- Views of snow peaks begin to appear.
Day 5: Soi Thangthangkha – Jangothang
- Reach the famous Jomolhari Base Camp area.
- Panoramic mountain scenery.
Day 6: Acclimatization Day
- Explore around Jangothang.
- Optional hikes to nearby ridges and lakes.
Day 7: Jangothang – Return Trek
- Begin descent through alpine landscapes.
Day 8–9: Trek back toward Paro
- Pass villages and forest trails.
- Final camp before reaching roadhead.
Day 10: Departure
- Return to Paro and transfer to airport.
