This extended cultural tour explores Bhutan’s historical and spiritual heartland. In addition to western Bhutan, you’ll travel to central Bhutan, home to ancient temples, royal history, and sacred pilgrimage sites.
Day 1–2: Paro & Thimphu
- Arrival and cultural sightseeing.
- Visit monasteries, museums, and traditional craft centers.
- Learn about Bhutanese architecture, religion, and governance.
Day 3: Thimphu – Punakha
- Visit Dochula Pass.
- Explore Punakha Dzong and nearby villages.
- Optional short nature walk through rice fields.
Day 4: Punakha – Trongsa
- Scenic mountain drive through central Bhutan.
- Visit Trongsa Dzong, the ancestral home of Bhutan’s royal family.
- Explore the Royal Heritage Museum.
Day 5–6: Bumthang Valley
- Travel to Bumthang Valley.
- Visit Jakar Dzong.
- Explore sacred temples such as Kurjey Lhakhang and Jambay Lhakhang.
- Meet local communities and learn about traditional farming and weaving.
Day 7: Return to Paro
- Domestic flight or overland journey (depending on package).
- Free time for shopping and cultural performances.
Day 8: Tiger’s Nest & Departure
- Visit Tiger’s Nest Monastery.
- Departure from Paro Airport.
